    Whilst I have been …
Whilst I have been a great fan of Anderson and Tull for more years than I care to remember I have to say that in my humble opinion Stivell leaves Anderson behind - if it is dabbling to almost single-handedly raise Breton music into the hearing of a more mainstream audience then Long may he Dabble!!

    It looks like there …
It looks like there are mistakes about comparing instruments. The zurna is probably the precurser to the bombarde, which is as you say, the instrument in question. The zurna is for certain the precurser of the shawm, the instrument used in European Middle Ages and Renaissance music. To my embarrassment, the pipa is a Chinese stringed instrument.

    Pepere78 doesn’t …
Pepere78 doesn’t know what he/she is talking about. It is like the middle eastern Zurna which is a double reed instrument. The pipa is a flute.

    It’s called a ” …
It’s called a “bombarde” in French. It’s a kind of small oboe, similar to other instruments in the Middle East or in China (pipa). These wind instruments probably share a Middle East origin.

So good to see Dan …
So good to see Dan Ar Braz & Alan Stivell playing together again. Though he’s had some good guitar players in recent years nobody plays these old Stivell classics like Dan Ar Braz does.
